I get emails and phone calls all the time…I gotta stereo for sale, wanna buy it? Yeah? Like I got a car for sale wanna buy it? Better yet, I have a Chevy for sale. All these statements have one thing in common.  THERE IS NO INFORMATION. I received a call this morning that prompted me to write this post. A somewhat normal sounding fellow called me on the phone…hi my name is R******* and I have a stereo for sale. Ok, I answer. What is it? Hmmmm? Brand? Oh I don’t know.  He replies, where do I find the brand? This happens numerous times a week. It’s been like this for about twenty or so years now. People both young and old, male and female, from all walks of life are just STUPID. Sorry to be so blunt but it’s not even laziness. They think and believe a stereo is a stereo. Brand names, models, type, etc. don’t exist. In other words all stereos are the same, all cars are the same, all ovens and dishwashers are the same. I shop at Sears and everything in the store is Sears brand and made by Sears? Or Macy’s makes everything from mattresses to coffee pots? Are they really this clueless or is it an act? How do you go through life so uninformed about the simplest knowledge of type or brand recognition? Do these same people go into McDonalds and order lobster tails?  Anyway, it turned out the caller had an Aiwa empty black box stereo with pretty lights that I wasn’t interested in. Hey maybe I helped him realize there is more then one brand, type, and model of stereo made in the past 100+ years. Hope so. It’s both scary and sad what is going on. We are evolving into a nothing matters, one size fits all society. I just checked my answering machine upstairs, another phone call…I have an OLD stereo to sell. It’s a Boseeeeee wave radio. Old? Really? That’s a topic for another day.
