I buy old stereo equipment, that’s my deal, my gig, my enjoyment. Virtually everyday I receive phone calls from people who would like to turn their old equipment into immediate cash. Hey…that’s what I am here for. Approximately 99.9% of the time the caller makes it known that he or she is computer savvy and has seen their equipment on the internet and they know it’s worth meeeelyooons of $$$, lol. Ok cool, research is a great thing when it is used properly. First of all, why not just be honest and say or state that you looked at ebay? Why the internet, hahahhaha? Second of all, why are you calling me or anyone else if you can get big bucks on ebay? I’ll tell you why…because you don’t know anything about or what’s involved with selling on ebay. Or, you know all about the “bay” and you want no part of selling your equipment online. Everyone knows about eBay, it’s not a secret. We know about the ridiculous asking and sometimes selling prices. Obviously YOU don’t want to deal with the misery of online selling for any money. Fee’s, working, not-working, sometimes working? Packing, shipping, dealing with dishonest customers, there is a 180 day guarantee, opening your heart, credit card, bank account to paypal/ebay, following the venue’s policies and rules, reporting income and paying taxes, plus a half dozen other painful realities of selling online. Since you don’t want any of that stress why are you using this online mess as reference for selling price? I know, although I am not the sharpest knife in the drawer, I am not the spoon either. Ebay is not even close to a realistic bargaining/negotiating chip. Lately I don’t even try to educate or enlighten the seller. Again, most are trying to sell offline since they want fast cash, no drama, and no work. They will never sell it online, that’s NEVER. Well maybe on Craigslist. Then after the “almost” Craigs transaction they will complain that Hillbilly Jim and  Hershel showed up a day late to their home with no money and left a quart sized oil stain on their driveway with their 1972 van.  When you sell locally, expect to get 1/3-1/5 ebay average selling price of that item. That’s right, your not getting half because one has to factor in all the fees, work, stress, etc. It’s not even close, if you buy for half price and try to resell on ebay you will without a doubt come out close to even or lose money.

I collect, trade, and enjoy vintage electronics. I pay a very fair CASH price. No hassle, stress, drama, or work when dealing with me. When sellers contact me with absorbent, unrealistic prices they view on ebay I wish them luck and if it doesn’t work out you can call me anytime. A sad truth, 11 out of 10 times they won’t sell it online for obvious reasons. They either donate, throw the stuff out, or I end up buying from a family member who inherited it. I have been involved in electronics for over 35 years. Many times I go to yard/estate/moving sales and buy the same equipment that was offered to me 20+ years prior from the original owners children or other family members. If you reside in the NY/NJ area and have Stereo equipment you would like to sell please call me at 718 698-2428. I don’t pay internet retail or ebay prices but I will give a fair cash amount. I am prompt, reliable, courteous and easy to deal with…Give me a call.
