It’s getting harder and harder to sell used “anything” on the internet. Paypal forces sellers into a 180 day(6 month) money back guarantee. Face it, most people pay with paypal so sellers are getting abused left and right. At least one out three sales ends up with a problem. Either a buyer wants a partial refund, a return, or some other complaint is looming. Why? Because it’s so easy to game the system even honest people are taking advantage of the lop sided playing field. Even little old granny’s are beating up on sellers now. it’s like they have 30% Kohl’s coupon that they are going to redeem at your expense. It’s a built in discount, you complain and promise to give the seller good feedback if he or she does the right thing and bingo…partial refund or take back your item which has been raped of its irreplaceable parts or else. People constantly call and email me with (I saw it on online for this price.) Yes, you did see it on ebay for that price. Funny you chose the highest selling price for that item, or a sellers asking price that he didn’t get. If it’s so easy, profitable, and enjoyable why aren’t you selling it online yourself? I’ll tell you WHY…It’s loads of work(labor) with packing, buying or finding proper packing supplies, shipping, losing money on shipping costs, dealing with dishonest people who exchange their broken item for your working item and sending it back stating “item not as described”, playing the Costco or Kohl’s game with your equipment. Dealing with crooks, an anti-seller environment and again all the work that goes into it, only to find out you ended up losing money on that item you have that’s worth $50.00-$100.00.

No, I am not a wise guy. I applaud anyone who can deal with the new normal of selling online. You deserve all the credit in the world if you can sell 30-50 year old equipment and are forced into a 6 month money back guarantee. It’s no joke. When I give price quotes of 1/3 of the average price of completed sold auctions, I am giving you a realistic number where I can still possibly make a small profit.

In truth, most older equipment needs some kind of service. Nine out of ten people who I speak to state the equipment they want to sell is working 100%. Liar, liar set your stereo on fire. Nothing that is old comes without some kind of problem. Whether it be alignment, bad electrolytic capacitors, burnt out lamps, static in the controls, frozen switches, oxidation, and host of other problems. When you write and compose a description and don’t mention that the volume control is intermittent or the center channel meter doesn’t line up with the signal meter, or the stereo indicator is not illuminating your getting the unit shipped back to your doorstep. Don’t’ believe me? Yeah, you do, lol. That’s why your here.

Do you want to sell your equipment? I buy it working, sometimes working, or non-working. As long as it’s in good cosmetic condition and we agree on a fair price, we have a deal. I come to you with cash in hand. I am prompt, courteous, and won’t complain about a small scratch on the cabinet.
