The best time to sell old stereo equipment is now. Because…as the older generation becomes smaller population wise there is less of a demand. Right now there are still some audiophiles, older folks like me who still appreciate the large boat anchor sized equipment of the past. New age people simply don’t want your hundred lb. floor standing speakers or stereo receiver that takes up precious space. Think about it, when was the last time you listened to a cassette or record?  Considering you can download music for free on pocket sized devices most young people have no use for antiquated technology. As nice as your 1978 Coupe Deville is or was not to many people under 60 want to be seen in a Flintstone mobile in 2019. That’s right, they don’t make em like they used to. Our grandparents, parents, etc. used to echo that phrase. People argue this FACT all the time, through the generations even. What you considered good now belongs in a museum or scrap yard. Yes, there are exceptions, but not enough to drive a business or become successfully desirable. All I hear is records are coming back, yeah like a 1957 Chevy, cool to look at and even take a spin in, but who wants that as a daily driver? Yes, I know you know someone one, or maybe even your kid appreciates vintage items. Nothing wrong with it, but…if you want the money you sell now since tomorrow there will be less customers/consumers of vintage electronics. As I have stated in past posts, almost all “vintage” is losing steam. There are so many reasons, new technology, affordability, where to get serviced, etc, etc. Anyway, now is the time to sell your old equipment while there is still a few of us 50+’s that want it. I am one of them. Plus there is little to no music coming out anymore that needs a quality sound system to appreciate. Come to my website:
